The Adventurous Tails of Drift & Finn

This is the story of two dogs, both border collies, who found their way from a sad and lonely existance of cruelty, abandonment and neglect to a happy and fulfilled life of outdoor fun with oodles of love and patience... and just a little bit of training too!

Drift's Story

Drift's Story
I dont like to talk about my past so much, it wasn't a happy place, i wasn't loved or taken care off. I ended up at The Scottish SPCA centre in Cardonald then was moved to the Ayr centre the next day. Luckily for me Mel came to see me and i was adopted the very next day. As i result of my previous owners i have a few issues and like to protect my food and bed, but with a little training and a lot of patience from Mel, i am gradually getting over this. I love my new pack and my best buddy is the new addition Finn, just a youngster and submissive to my dominant streak, we have lots of fun playing rough and tumble but he is always stealing my toys. . My favourite things are getting out to the forest chasing sticks and tracking scents, but even more fun is a day at the beach with Finn, chasing waves and splashing around. I also like to bring Mel presents of rocks and stones i find by sticking my head underwater.... it takes ages to find just the right one! Winter is the best time of year where we go out into the hills in the snow and play hide and seek. My two other favourite things are snuggles and spiders, just cannot get enough of them. I am so lucky to have such an amazing new family that like being on the go as much as me and a second chance, where i feel safe and loved... still trying to work my way to the top of the pack tho!

Finn's Story

Finn's Story
I am not sure how i ended up wandering the streets, but all i know is that i was devastated that my previous owners didn't love me enough to come and find me. I spent a scary week in the Scottish SPCA centre in Milton, but i remember moments of fun when Mel kept coming to see me every couple of days with another collie called Drift, i was so happy when she adopted me and love my new pack especially Drift, who is the best big brother ever. He likes to think he's top dog, but quietly... i think i am really! We have so much fun together, playing tug of war with toys... Drift always lets me win, and running about daft where ever we go. We even share our bed together at night, which makes me feel safe. Our new owner loves the outdoors, so we are always out in the fresh air doing something active, sometimes 4 or 5 hours on the hill, sometimes kayaking adventures and sometimes chilled weekends camping and swimming in lochs. I am still a little shy and timid but i love my new pack and all the things we do together. My favourite thing is running through the forest with Drift and swimming in lochs, not so keen on the taste of sea water... yuk! In the summer i love lying outside in the sun, snoozing and just chilling out. Life is good again!
